Crisis Aid Indonesia has a growing list of poor families in urgent need of adequate housing. This includes large family units living in cramped, unhygienic conditions on the verge of collapse with leaking roofs made from palm tree leaves, rotting wooden walls, soil earth flooring, no toilet facilities and inadequate access to running water. We have witnessed the dangerous impact that inadequate housing has had on the wellbeing of poor families.

Young children develop serious health problems from sleeping in damp conditions under a leaking roof. Elderly people sleeping and cooking in one room become critically sick due to the inhalation of toxic smoke from open stove fires. Snakes enter houses through broken walls and the weak structure of so many houses made from rotting wood renders them dangerously uninhabitable in a country so prone to earthquakes and tsunamis.

You can help lift an entire family out of poverty and provide them with the comfort, dignity, safety and hygiene that they deserve by building a brand new two-bedroom bungalow with bathroom facilities for as little as £3,000. You will also share the reward from the acts of worship that are performed in a house built partially or entirely through your donation.
