Pakistan Emergency Flood Appeal
Monsoon rains and associated flooding have battered parts of Pakistan, resulting in at least 163 fatalities, and more than 100 injured, as reported by national authorities on 30 August.
More than 1,590 houses, nine bridges and 10 roads were damaged or destroyed. Heavy rain have caused devastating landslides across northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and AJK Regions. National authorities have attempted to conduct rescue and relief efforts, but the slow response has left people angry at the lack of help.
The Crisis Aid team has visited areas affected by landslides in Azad Kashmir which has left entire communities homeless and found others to be living in makeshift tents and shelters. They are in urgent need of emergency rations, water and medical treatment.
