I’m honoured to be a servant of Allah who believes that each of us has the power to make a difference. We can often underestimate the value of our actions, but it is the small things that really make a difference. Allah created life and death to see which of us is best in deeds, not which of us is most in deeds. This indicates that a deed deemed insignificant can be magnanimous to Allah in virtue, and vice versa. The quality of our deeds is determined by our levels of sincerity.

Doing this trek is important to me because a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, just as making it to the top does. I’m hoping this will be my first step to doing more together in collaboration. Our combined efforts to raise money for the children of Gaza show how if each of us uses our skills collectively, we can benefit the ummah.
