As-Salamu Alaikum everyone.

So as we are now in the month of Ramadan, I have decided to raise money for a Water Well in Togo (West Africa). Togo is one of many countries that are in dire need of fresh clean water!

Abu Huraira reported that: The Prophet Muhammed (saw) said: "Charity does not decrease wealth.." (Sahih Muslim 2588).
An act of worship in Ramadan is multiplied and the Prophet Muhammad (saw) gave Sadaqah throughout the year but he increased it during this sacred month. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was most generous during Ramadan" (Hadith, Bukhari)

In many rural villages in Togo, West Africa, there is a lack of clean water for daily drinking and cooking. As a result, many people are at risk for health problems, water-borne diseases, and even death. Abundant clean water exists not far below the surface of the ground, but there is a great need for wells to be installed and maintained in order to bring clean groundwater to the surface for daily use.

Prophet Muhammed(ﷺ) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “Providing water“ (Abu Dawud).

Billions of people around the world are continuing to suffer from poor access to water, sanitation and hygiene, according to a report (2019) from the World Health Organization. Roughly 2.2 billion people around the world do not have access to safe, fresh drinking water from home, and approximately 160+ million of these people drink from surface sources such as lakes, streams etc.
