Bread for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

Bread for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

Jordan Bread Project

Bread is the staple diet of Syrians. The Assad regime understands this very well so it targets all bread factories in their bombing raids. The objective is to starve the population into submission.

This is in opposition to the UN rules of engagement and against human rights. Despite this, the Syrian people still found ways to make bread even though it has become so scarce and expensive.

Crisis Aid has been providing food parcels for Syrian refugees for the last four years, but bread is difficult for us to get our hands on. So we purchase flour and find factories still working underground so the Syrians can make their own bread. Our teams on the ground then pick up this baked bread and distribute it to camps and displaced Syrians through northern Syria.

A new project we have embarked on in conjunction with a local aid organisation in Jordon is to make and provide bread for Syrian refugees in the Buqa Camp. We managed to provide bread for 200 families in January 2017 and now we are doing the same for another 200 families with bread for February 2017.

We aim to provide these 200 families with bread once each month and the cost is £3000. That’s only £15 per family. You can provide bread for a family once per month through Crisis Aid.

When we asked refugees what foods they would like to be provided with they all replied with the same answer: “Bread”.

Please donate generously for as many families as you like as it’s only £15 per family.

Allah says: “Who is he that will loan to Allah a beautiful loan, which Allah will double unto his credit and multiply many times? It is Allah that giveth (you) plenty, and to Him shall be your return.” {Al-Qur’an, 2:245}

Feed the needy and poor today and Allah will feed you from his limitless bounty, insha Allah.
